Howie Magaro

Howie Magaro first began competing with The Michigan Bhangra Team in 2014 and has competed at over 16 competitions. These include World’s Best Bhangra Crew, Boston Bhangra, Bhangra in the Burgh, Motor City Bhangra, Big Ten Bhangra, and Bhangra Blowout. In 2014, he became one of the captains of the Michigan Bhangra Team (MBT) and led his team to successful placings at over 4 national competitions including Nachde Nashville, Buckeye Mela, and Bhangra Blowout. In 2015, Howie has started the team Duniya De Rang (DDR) which is the first Non-Desi Bhangra team featuring the best dancers from the Bhangra circuit who are not of South Asian heritage and has led them to compete at the prestigious Big Ten Bhangra Competition 2017. Howie has also danced with Furteelay Shokeen, Detroit’s Premier Bhangra Team. In 2016, he became one of the captains of Anakh-E-Gabroo (AEG) and led the team to three successful placings at Got Bhangra Competition, Las Vegas All Stars, and Bhangra in the Burgh. He currently maintains the role of Captain and hopes to take AEG to more national placings. Outside of Bhangra, Howie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from The University of Michigan-Ann Arbor and is an Audit Manager for RBC Capital Markets. His interests also include Baseball, Finance, and of course his alma mater The Michigan Wolverines.

Ankush Vermani

Ankush Vermani is and always has been a dedicated bhangra dancer, judge, captain, and competition organizer. He first began competing with Anakh-E-Gabroo in 2008 and has competed at over 28 competitions throughout his Bhangra career. In 2011, Ankush became the captain and led his team (AEG) to successful placings at over 12 national competitions including Bruin Bhangra, Boston Bhangra, Bhangra in the Burgh, Big Apple Bhangra, Bhangra Fever, and PCS Chicago. Ankush is one of the founders of the World’s Best Bhangra Crew Competition, a show that has pushed the boundaries of bhangra by establishing the largest international stage for dancers in the world. He currently coaches AEG and judges at various prestigious Bhangra competitions. These judging engagements include Bhangra Blowout, Bruin Bhangra, PCS Chicago, and Buckeye Mela. Outside of Bhangra, Ankush Vermani holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Rutgers University- Newark and a Master’s of Labor and Employment Law from Rutgers University School of Management & Labor Studies. He is currently a field officer for the U.S Customs and Border Patrol Protection agency. Ankush’s interests also include Basketball, Cricket, and helping coach the next generation of AEG dancers.

Akash

Akash Minocha

Akash Minocha first began dancing Bhangra in 2012 with NYU Pandemonium as both a dancer and choreographer. After his stint with NYU Pandemonium, Akash began competing with Rutgers Bhangra (RU Bhangra) in 2013 and has competed at over 15 competitions. These include World’s Best Bhangra Crew, Bhangra Fever, Bhangra in the Burgh, Motor City Bhangra, Big Apple Bhangra, and Bhangra Blowout. In 2016, he became one of the captains of Anakh-E-Gabroo (AEG). Akash has choreographed winning bhangra sets which led to three successful placings for AEG at GOT Bhangra Competition, Las Vegas All Stars, and Bhangra in the Burgh. He currently maintains the role of Captain and hopes to choreograph revolutionary Bhangra sets that will lead AEG to more national placings. Outside of Bhangra, Akash holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Rutgers Business School and is an entry level Analyst for JP Morgan Chase. His interests also include Basketball, Punjabi music, and taking his dog (Happy) for long walks in the park.

Vikram Bahogun

Vikram Bahogun got his introduction to Bhangra in 2013 with NYU Bhangra. Since then, Vikram has performed at various wedding functions and Bhangra Exhibitions throughout the tri-state area. In 2016, Vikram Bahogun began his competitive Bhangra career with Anakh-E-Gabroo (AEG). He has danced and placed at 3 competitions. These include Naachde Cleveland, GOT Bhangra, and Bhangra in the Burgh. Outside of Bhangra, Vikram is currently studying Graphic Designing at Shillington School of Graphic Design and holds a degree in Marketing. His interests also include Music Production, Cinematography, Graphic Designing,  and Men’s Fashion.

Ravinder Singh

Ravinder  Singh Buttar (Ravi) got his introduction to Bhangra in 2015 with Anakh-E-Jawan (AEJ), Anakh-E-Gabroo's junior team. Since then, Ravi has performed at various wedding functions and Bhangra Exhibitions throughout the tri-state area. In 2016 Ravi began his competitive Bhangra career with Anakh-E-Gabroo (AEG). He has danced and placed at 3 competitions. These include Nachde Cleveland, GOT Bhangra, and Bhangra in the Burgh. Outside of Bhangra, Ravi is currently studying at Queens Community College and is working towards his Marketing and Finance degree. His interests also include Punjabi music, Kabbadi, and sports cars.

 

 

Pratik Lakhani

Pratik Lakhani first began competing with The Michigan Bhangra Team in 2012 and has competed at over 17 competitions. These include World’s Best Bhangra Crew, Boston Bhangra, Bhangra in the Burgh, Motor City Bhangra, and Bhangra Blowout. In 2014, he became one of the captains of the Michigan Bhangra Team (MBT) and led his team to successful placings at over 4 national competitions including Nachde Nashville, Buckeye Mela, and Bhangra Blowout. Pratik has also danced with Dhamak Punjab De (DPD), Rutgers University Bhangra, Rahke Virse De (RVD), and Furteelay Shokeen (FS). On AEG, Pratik has aided in creating winning bhangra formations which led to three successful placings for AEG. Outside of Bhangra, Pratik holds a Bachelor of Science Engineering in Environmental Engineering from The University of Michigan–Ann Arbor and is Environmental Engineer for the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation in New York City. His interests also include Baseball, Cooking, and of course his alma mater The Michigan Wolverines.

Akshay Minocha

Akshay Minocha first began competing with Rutgers Bhangra (RU Bhangra) in 2014 and has competed at over 10 competitions. These include Big Apple Bhangra, Bhangra in the Burgh, Boston Bhangra, and Bhangra Blowout. Akshay has also danced and successfully placed with AEG in 3 competitions including Nachde Cleveland, GOT Bhangra, and Bhangra in the Burgh. In 2017, Akshay became the captain of the Rutgers University Bhangra Team and hopes to take his collegiate team to many successful placings. On AEG, Akshay has aided in choreographing winning bhangra sets which led to three successful placings for AEG. Outside of Bhangra, Akshay is currently a sophomore at Rutgers University –New Brunswick and is working towards his Economics degree with the hopes of gaining admission to a top dentistry program upon graduation. His interests also include Basketball and Video Games.

Arminder Singh

Arminder (Ammo) Singh got his introduction to Bhangra in 2014 with his high school team Townsend Harris Bhangra. Since then, Arminder has performed at various wedding functions and Bhangra Exhibitions throughout the tri-state area. In 2016 Arminder began his competitive Bhangra career with Anakh-E-Gabroo (AEG). He has danced and placed at 3 competitions. These include Nachde Cleveland, GOT Bhangra, and Bhangra in the Burgh. Outside of Bhangra, Arminder is currently studying at St John’s University and is working towards his Physician’s Assistant (PA) degree. His interests also include Punjabi music and Kabbadi.

Gurinder Singh

Gurinder (Guri) Singh got his introduction to Bhangra in 2015 with Anakh-E-Jawan (AEJ), Anakh-E-Gabroo's junior team. Since then, Guri has performed at various wedding functions and Bhangra Exhibitions throughout the tri-state area. In 2016 Guri began his competitive Bhangra career with Anakh-E-Gabroo (AEG). He has danced and placed at 3 competitions. These include GOT Bhangra, Las Vegas All Stars, and Bhangra in the Burgh. Outside of Bhangra, Guri is currently a student at New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) and is working towards his Electrical Engineering degree. His interests also include Punjabi music and Kabbadi.

 

 

 

Atinderpal Singh

Atinderpal (Atinder) Singh got his introduction to Bhangra in 2014 with his high school team Townsend Harris Bhangra. Since then, Atinder has performed at various wedding functions and Bhangra Exhibitions throughout the tri-state area. In 2016 Atinder began his competitive Bhangra career with Anakh-E-Gabroo (AEG). He has danced and placed at 4 competitions. These include Nachde Cleveland, GOT Bhangra, Las Vegas All Stars, and Bhangra in the Burgh. Outside of Bhangra, Atinder is currently studying at Adelphi University and is working towards his Biochemistry degree with the hopes of gaining admission to a top dentistry program upon graduation. His interests also include Punjabi music, Kabbadi, and dentistry.

Sukhmandeep Bring

Sukhmandeep (Sukhi) Bring got his introduction to Bhangra in 2015 with Anakh-E-Jawan (AEJ), Anakh-E-Gabroo's junior team. Since then, Sukhi has performed at various wedding functions and Bhangra Exhibitions throughout the tri-state area. In 2016 Sukhi began his competitive Bhangra career with Anakh-E-Gabroo (AEG). He has danced at 5 competitions and placed at 4. These placings include Nachde Cleveland, GOT Bhangra, Las Vegas Allstars, and Bhangra in the Burgh. Outside of Bhangra, Sukhi is currently a student at Hunter College and is working towards his Psychology and Religion degree with the hopes of gaining admission to a top Physical Therapy program upon graduation. His interests also include Basketball, Punjabi music, and Kabbadi.

Kartik Madaan

Kartik Madaan got his introduction to Bhangra in 2015 with Anakh-E-Jawan (AEJ), Anakh-E-Gabroo's junior team. Since then, Kartik has performed at various wedding functions and Bhangra Exhibitions throughout the tri-state area. In 2016, Kartik began his competitive Bhangra career with Anakh-E-Gabroo (AEG). He has danced and placed at 4 competitions. These include Nachde Cleveland, GOT Bhangra, Las Vegas All Stars, and Bhangra in the Burgh. Outside of Bhangra, Kartik is currently a student at Queens Community College and is working towards his Criminal Justice degree. His interests also include Punjabi music.

Aditya Palepu

Aditya (Adi) Palepu got his introduction to Bhangra in 2010 with Duke Dhamaka, competing at 8 events, including Sin City Bhangra and PCS Chicago, among others. Since joining AEG, he's competed at GOT Bhangra and Bhangra in the Burgh. In addition to the competitive scene, he's performed at various wedding functions and exhibitions throughout the VA and NYC areas. Aditya holds a Bachelor's of Science and Engineering in Electrical & Computer Engineering and Computer Science from Duke University. He works at DRW in downtown NYC as a quantitative trader/researcher and lives in midtown Manhattan (but for all intents and purposes...Fairfax, VA). In his free time however, he is an enthused programmer, runner, skier, and traveler. The loves of his life include Indian food, anything wrapped in burrito form, all DC-area sports teams, and of course, Duke basketball.

James Shen

James Shen got his introduction to Bhangra in 2015 with UMD Terrapind and has competed at over 4 competitions. These include Nachde Cleveland, Boiler Bhangra Competition, Big Apple Bhangra, and Las Vegas All Stars. Before Bhangra, James has performed at various wedding functions and Bhangra Exhibitions throughout the tri-state area. With AEG, he has danced and placed at Las Vegas Allstars and Nachde Cleveland. Outside of Bhangra, James holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from The University of Maryland and is a Business Analyst for BlackRock. His interests also include Chinese culture and Finance.

Rohit Batra

Rohit Batra got his introduction to Bhangra in 2011 with 5th Avenue Bhangra and has competed at over 5 competitions. These include Big Apple Bhangra, Nachde Cleveland, Got Bhangra, Las Vegas All Stars, and Bhangra in the Burgh. Rohit has performed at various wedding functions and Bhangra Exhibitions throughout the tri-state area. With AEG, Rohit has placed at Nachde Cleveland, GOT Bhangra, Las Vegas Allstars, and Bhangra in the Burgh. Outside of Bhangra, Rohit holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering from City College with the hopes of gaining admission to a top law program. His interests include traveling and photography.

Janil Jayan

Janil Jayan got his introduction to Bhangra in 2015 with Anakh-E-Jawan (AEJ), Anakh-E-Gabroo's junior team. Since then, Janil has performed at various wedding functions and Bhangra Exhibitions throughout the tri-state area. In 2016, Janil began his competitive Bhangra career with Anakh-E-Gabroo (AEG). He has danced and placed at 4 competitions. These include Nachde Cleveland, GOT Bhangra, Las Vegas All Stars, and Bhangra in the Burgh. Outside of Bhangra, Janil is currently a student at Hunter College and is working towards his nursing degree. His interests also include Basketball, Bollywood dance and film, and men’s fashion.

Karandeep Singh

Karandeep (Karan) Singh got his introduction to Bhangra in 2015 with Anakh-E-Jawan (AEJ), Anakh-E-Gabroo's junior team. Since then, Karan has performed at various wedding functions and Bhangra Exhibitions throughout the tri-state area. In 2016, Karan began his competitive Bhangra career with Anakh-E-Gabroo (AEG). He has danced and placed at 3 competitions. These include Nachde Cleveland, Clutch City Bhangra, and Las Vegas All Stars. Outside of Bhangra, Karan is currently a student at Queens College and is working towards his accounting degree. His interests also include Sikh culture and Finance. 

Sameer Shamsie

Sameer Shamsie got his introduction to Bhangra in 2014 with Rochester University Bhangra and has competed at over 3 competitions. These include As Dekhen Zara (ADZ), Boiler Bhangra Competition, and Las Vegas All Stars. Before Bhangra, Sameer has performed at various wedding functions and Bhangra Exhibitions throughout the tri-state area. With AEG, he has danced and placed at Las Vegas Allstars. Outside of Bhangra, Sameer holds a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from The University of Rochester and a Master’s in Biotechnology, Enterprise, and Entrepreneurship from John Hopkins University. He is currently a Business Analyst at Bionest Partners, a boutique life science strategy consulting firm. Sameer’s interests include Pakistani culture and RAAS. 

 

 

    

Suhail Rawal

Suhail Rawal got his introduction to Bhangra in 2012 with Cornell Bhangra and has competed at over 4 competitions. These include Boston Bhangra and Bhangra Blowout. Before Bhangra, Suhail has performed at various wedding functions and Bhangra Exhibitions throughout the tri-state area. Suhail has also held leadership positions on Cornell Bhangra and was instrumental in helping organize Pao Bhangra, Cornell University's premier bhangra exhibition. Suhail has also taken a interest in mixing and has made award winning mixes for teams such as Cornell Bhangra and Anakh-E-Gabroo. Outside of Bhangra, Suhail holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University. His interests include engineering, Basketball, and Football.

Vikram Arora got his introduction to Bhangra in 2015 with Anakh-E-Jawan (AEJ), Anakh-E-Gabroo's junior team. Since then, Vikram has performed at various wedding functions and Bhangra Exhibitions throughout the tri-state area. In 2016, Vikram began his competitive Bhangra career with Anakh-E-Gabroo (AEG). He has danced and placed at 3 competitions. These include Nachde Cleveland, Clutch City Bhangra, and Las Vegas All Stars. Outside of Bhangra, Vikram holds a Bachelor of Sciences in Psychology from Hunter College with the hopes of gaining admission to a top dentistry program . His interests also include Sikh culture and Basketball. 

Yash Desai

Yash Desai first began competing with Gator Bhangra in 2012 and has competed at over 10 competitions. These include Big Apple Bhangra, Boston Bhangra, and Nachde Nashville. Yash has also danced and successfully placed first with AEG at Las Vegas All Stars. In 2014, Yash became the captain of the Gator Bhangra, University of Florida's premier Bhangra team. Outside of Bhangra, Yash is currently a second year dental student at the Touro College of Dental Medicine. His interests also include Basketball and of course this alma mater the Florida Gators.

Sargamjit Sethi

If you ever need a mix that will be sure to wow the crowd and the judges at a Bhangra competition, Sargamjit (Sargam) Sethi is the go to man for your mixing needs. With over 35 Bhangra trophies collected by the various teams who have used his services, Sargam is and has always has been a one of the most sought after DJs in the Bhangra circuit today. Sargam first started making Bhangra mixes in 2008 and since then, he has garnered more than over 1,000,000 plays on his Soundcloud page. Throughout the years, he has made over 50 award winning Bhangra mixes for more than 12 teams within the Bhangra circuit. Notable teams he has worked with include, Anakh-E-Gabroo (AEG), Nachde Shokeen Gabroo (NSG), The Michigan Bhangra Team (MBT), Buckeye Bhangra, and Alamo City Bhangra (ACB). Outside of Bhangra, Sargam is currently a Business Analyst Specialist at NASDAQ located at the company headquarters in the New York Financial District. His interests outside of music and Bhangra include traveling, financial markets, investment strategies, reading, and meeting individuals with more to offer than simple small talk.

Harjot Singh

Harjot Singh is and always has been a music lover. He first started making Bhangra mixes in 2014 and since then, he has garnered more than over 300,000 plays on his Bhangra Soundcloud page. With over 5 Bhangra trophies collected by the various teams who have used his services, Harjot is one of the most in demand upcoming DJs in the Bhangra circuit today. Throughout the years, he has made over 10 award winning Bhangra mixes for more than 4 teams within the Bhangra circuit. Notable teams he has worked with include, Anakh-E-Gabroo (AEG), Nachde Shokeen Gabroo (NSG), Duniya de Rang (DDR), and Anakh-Sherniyan-Di (ASD). Outside of Bhangra, Harjot is currently a student at SUNY Westbury studying Mechanical Engineering. His interests outside of music and Bhangra include traveling, video games, and the random engineering projects he works on.
